This article is particularly interesting from a security perspective. The video highlights only one mistake that the security guard made: he didn’t maintain control of the security verification process.Otherwise, he did well. He challenged the unknown persons, he demanded identification. Since they were unable to verify their identity, and therefore unable to verify their security access, he sent them up to verify their identities. He didn’t let the time of day obstruct him from his duties and called the supervisor. Unfortunately, all it takes is one weak link. The intruders were able to take control of the verification process and got away with breaking in.

This just goes to show that security officers need to always be vigilant and to always be inquisitive. Had this been a terrorist activity, it could’ve ended disastrously. I certainly don’t blame the security guard in the video, he only failed at the very end. But it does get you thinking about the role of a security guard in modern times.
