I’ve been thinking about changing the style of my blog. I do like the feel of the current style. I designed it (well, modified) so that it is reminiscent of a Moleskine. It has the textured off-whitepages, the textured black background representing the cover. The serif font conveys a particular emotion that is congruent with both the title and the overall tone of this blog.

But then I keep seeing these newer fresher looking themes. I suppose one can read this blog just fine, but it’s not particularly meant for easy viewing. San serif is much easier on the eyes. The layout could also be improved. If I were to redesign it, I’d change it to sans serif, Helvetica based, dark background and light text.

The thing is that I originally designed this with my Moleskine in mind. I used to write in it more often, and I wanted this to reflect my written journal. It’s still very tempting to change something slicker, more modern, cleaner and more stylish.

At the end of the day though, I think I’ll just stick with what I’ve got. I like the feel of it. It’s a little gritty and dark. I don’t know, I suppose I’ll be experimenting for the next couple of months.
