An Inside Look at the Blu Cigarette
We all know that I’m a teetotaller. I don’t drink, do drugs, or smoke. But this cigarette has me rather intrigued: meet theblu cig. It isn’t like anything I’ve ever seen before. It’s an electronic cigarette. Who would’ve thought even cigarettes, which are basically tiny paper rolls of tobacco, could get all high tech too?
Now, I don’t really want to smoke anything at all. I’m aware that hookah can be enjoyed for its flavor, as opposed to cigarettes for its addictive qualities. It’s not the inhalation of flavored smoke. But I have always wanted to blow smoke rings. Also, I have a fair amount of manual dexterity and always wanted to twirl a cigarette between my fingers when idling around. A cigarette is easier than a pack of cards to carry around. With a pack of cards I’d be fanning and Charlier-cutting.
Unfortunately, the starter kit includes a whole bunch of flavors I’m not really interested in. I don’t care much for tobacco, cherry, and menthol. The only thing I’d consider is vanilla and one that has no flavor. And of course I would opt for the no-nicotine ones. The other thing is the prohibitive cost: I’m not willing to shell out sixty bucks for a fancy little accessory to fiddle with while I stand around looking cool and mysterious in my dark clothing, leaning in some corner like a shady fellow.I am rather tempted though, and in all likelihood this will become one of my frivolous purchases. Hell, I might even attempt to do something like Penn & Teller’s cigarette bit, shown below. We shall see.[flv:PennTeller_SleightofHand.flv 480 360]
P.S. I don’t know if these will reduce the risk of cancer, but they don’t have any tobacco or nicotine, so go figure. Oh, and I have no clue how this affects your health. Being a non-smoker, these things never concerned me. I’ll have to research what goes into the no-nicotine cartridges and the health concerns before I actually go through with this.
