Babies Know – A Little Dirt Is Good for You – NYTimes.com

This is why I haven’t gotten sick in ages. For the longest time, I didn’t care about my food-related hygiene. There are all those folksout there who are scared of food that’s been dropped on the ground, been touched by someone else’s fork, religiously washing hands before eating, etc. Well, I always said, fuck it, it’s not gonna kill me. I remember only starting to feel sick after several sleepless nights. Guess I’m not invincible: getting at least a half-decent sleep is important to maintaining my health.
