Babies Know — A Little Dirt Is Good for You — NYTimes.com

This is why I haven’t gotten sick in ages.  For the longest time, I didn’t care about my food-related hygiene.  There are all those folks out there who are scared of food that’s been dropped on the ground, been touched by someone else’s fork, religiously washing hands before eating, etc.  Well, I always said, fuck it, it’s not gonna kill me.  And what doesn’t kill you only makes you stronger.

Explains my long standing streak of not having gotten ill in any way whatsoever for, let’s see.…probably starting around high school.  I don’t remember getting sick any time during high school or afterwards.

Shucks, I know there was this one time I got a flu that lasted a week or so.  Literally everyone I knew had the flu: friends, family, strangers, everyone.  I remember only starting to feel sick after several sleepless nights.  Guess I’m not invincible: getting at least a half-decent sleep is important to maintaining my health.

I used to not give a fuck until I became a self-proclaimed hypochondriac
I still get sick very rarely. Fucking snifflers up in college.
